Dell has expanded its UltraSharp lineup with the introduction of the U2724D and U2724DE monitors, designed with the professional sector in mind. These models represent a significant update for gaming enthusiasts as they feature LG’s IPS Black panels, first showcased at CES 2022, capable of a 120Hz refresh rate.
The IPS Black technology offers a 35% improvement in black levels over standard IPS panels, achieving a contrast ratio of 2000:1. This innovation also improves color volume and ensures consistent viewing angles, especially in low-gradation scenarios.
Dell’s adoption of IPS Black started with their 4K UltraSharp monitors and extended to the UltraSharp 32 6K display. The new U2724D and U2724DE models retain the benefits of IPS Black, but introduce a higher 120Hz refresh rate, diverging from their 4K predecessors by offering 1440p resolution.
The Dell UltraSharp U2724D and U2724DE monitors offer the following technical specifications:
- 27-inch IPS Black WLED panel
- 2560 x 1440 resolution (16:9 aspect ratio)
- Contrast ratio is set to 2000:1
- Peak brightness of 350 nits with an ambient light sensor for automatic adjustment
