Port Adelaide’s Connor Rozee had a season to remember on the field, but his final action off the field was perhaps his best.

The 23-year-old star claimed his second straight All-Australian blazer and finished in the top 10 for the Brownlow Medal with 21 votes as he continued to prove himself among the competition’s elite midfielders.

Although the season didn’t end on an ideal note as Port Adelaide suffered a straight sets exit after losses to the Brisbane Lions and GWS Giants, his personal life seemed to gain momentum after he announced his engagement to his partner of three years. Maisie Packer.

The couple shared the news on Instagram with a joint post featuring a series of photos of the couple plus an engagement cake and close-up of the ring, captioned: “Forever with you.”

Class A Jewellers, who custom-made the ring, shared a video showing the AFL star being hands-on in designing – and creating – the band.

Packer commented: “So grateful.”

The page replied: “It’s perfect for you. Our newest jeweler has done the best job.”

Rozee’s teammates were quick to celebrate the pair’s engagement, with Zak Butters calling the news “unreal”.

Other players including Mitch Georgiadis, Boyd Woodcock, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, Kane Farrell, Jack Lukosius and Xavier Duursma all also sent their congratulations.

Rozee capped off a strong season on the field with a second-place finish, finishing as the club’s best and fairest behind Zak Butters. Rozee had won the award in 2022.

Rozee has scored 98 goals in 106 games since joining Port Adelaide when drafted at number 5 in the 2018 AFL Draft.

Maisie is one of the daughters of Seb Packer, director of Packers South Australia, a manufacturer of aluminum windows and doors.
