Major police response on Gold Coast after reports of shot fired

There is a major police operation underway on the island Gold Coast after reports of a gunshot.
Queensland Police said officers from nine.com.au responded to an “incident” on Karen Avenue at Mermaid Waters.
It is clear that there is no danger to the public.
There are unconfirmed reports that a shot was fired following a traffic stop.
One person is believed to be in custody and Karen Avenue is closed.
Queensland Ambulance told nine.com.au they were called to a location on the Gold Coast Highway, home to Karen Avenue, at around 6.59am local time (7.59am AEDT) in response to a police incident.
They treated three patients and one woman was taken to hospital in stable condition for further assessment
