Woman killed, girl injured in single-car crash in Rockhampton

A teenager has been killed and another injured when their car crashed into a tree in Rockhampton overnight.

The Holden Berlina sedan was traveling along Crane Ave, Kawana when it lost control and struck a tree about 3am on Saturday, Queensland Police say.

Police arrived a short time later and attempted to save the 19-year-old driver, but she died at the crash site.

Her passenger, a 17-year-old girl, was taken to Rockhampton Hospital.

Police from the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam or CCTV footage, is asked to contact police.
